    > Dallas police search for missing 74-year-old man... Nov 30/07
Dallas police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man with Alzheimer’s disease. Freddie Lee Scott, 74, was last seen about noon Monday in the 7000 block of Pickrell Drive, south of Interstate 30 in Buckner Terrace, police said. He is black, 6 feet tall and about 170 pounds, with gray hair, brown eyes and a full beard. Mr. Scott wears prescription glasses and was wearing a red sweatshirt, blue warm-up pants with red stripes down the legs and brown tennis shoes when he went missing. He usually carries a cane and wears several watches on the same arm, police said... cont...
    > If they build it in southern Dallas, make sure you come... Nov 29/07
Almost every elected official in Dallas County has come out publicly supporting economic development in southern Dallas. But it will take much more than hollow campaign promises if the area is to ever realize its true potential. Southern Dallas is the most scenic part of the city, and with all due respect to Cedar Hill, Oak Cliff is where the Hill Country truly begins. And, according to the J. McDonald Williams Institute, crime in the area is not that much different from that of other parts of Dallas.... cont...
    > Police Report More than 100 Car Accidents On Wet Roads... Nov 25/07
Police said no one was killed or seriously injured in the more than 100 car accidents Sunday on roads left wet by the weekend rain in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. An empty postal truck slid off Interstate 30 at Ferguson Road in Dallas early Sunday morning. The big 18-wheeler went through a guardrail and wound up in a creek bed next to the highway. The driver was taken to the hospital.... cont...
    > Rockwall council approves plan for 500-acre park... Nov 22/07
Five hundred acres along the Lake Ray Hubbard shore in north Rockwall could one day offer the opportunity to traverse six miles of trails, frolic with pets, play disc golf, kayak and possibly even camp. Rockwall council passed a plan this week for a massive park that would include this area at Dalton Road in Rockwall. Facilities for all those activities and more are included in a concept plan approved by the City Council this week for a massive park that... cont...
    > Draft report plots possible route for planned Interstate 69... Nov 16/07
The new Interstate 69 should be built in Texas mostly along existing highways – including U.S. 59, U.S. 77 and U.S. 281 – according to a draft environmental report released Tuesday. The federal environmental report recommends that the new interstate enter Texas from the east at Shreveport, La., travel south near Houston and head west to near Laredo. At the eastern part of the state, it would also connect north to Interstate 30 near Texarkana... cont...

Police are investigating after a man was left wounded in a shooting on Interstate 30 early Friday morning. The victim and his girlfriend were reportedly driving west on I-30... cont...
    > Bridge demolition to slow I-30... Nov 14/07
Interstate 30 and other Arlington roads will likely be a huge mess this weekend. Motorists are urged to stay away. > Firefighters battle mulch fire near White Rock Creek.. Nov 10/07
Dallas firefighters on Saturday continued to douse flare-ups left from a large mulch fire that started Friday night just south of Interstate 30 near Lawnview Avenue. It's unclear how the fire started, but by 10 p.m. Friday the pile – which is about 30 feet tall and 300 feet wide – was engulfed in flames. It is southwest of the corner of Lawnview and Samuell Boulevard, behind some warehouses and near White Rock Creek... cont...
    > Officials want toll road on the fast track... Nov 08/07
Regional planners are desperately looking for ways to get the Texas 161 toll road open before the 2011 Super Bowl. The long-planned toll road, which would run parallel to Texas 360 in Arlington, would provide relief on one of North Texas' most congested north-south corridors. And on game days, the road in Grand Prairie and Irving would be a major route to the new Dallas Cowboys stadium in Arlington, particularly for people coming into Tarrant County from north Dallas.... cont...
    > Traffic to ease with opening of highway HOV projects... Nov 08/07
Be patient, rush-hour commuters: Those unused carpool lanes you see on highway medians throughout the Dallas area will soon be useful for more than just collecting weeds, soda cans and busted tire treads. New high-occupancy vehicle lanes will soon launch on three of the area's busiest highways: U.S. Highway 75, Interstate 30 and Interstate 635. In addition, at least one stretch on I-30 has already opened... cont...
    > Developer to build business park in East Dallas... Nov 06/07
One of the country's biggest business park developers has bought land on Dallas' east side for a new industrial project. ProLogis said Tuesday that it has purchased 88 acres at the northeast corner of South Buckner Boulevard and Eastpoint Drive in Dallas. The developer plans to construct six warehouse and distribution buildings with about 1.6 million square feet. ProLogis officials said they acquired the land in part because of its proximity to one of Union Pacific's railway yards.... cont...
    > Road to traffic relief ... Nov 03/07
The question comes up often at debates about the Trinity toll road: What about mass transit? Why not just build more rail lines? In fact, Dallas Area Rapid Transit is doing precisely that. By 2030, the agency plans to double its light-rail mileage and ridership. Included in those plans are a new Green Line and its offshoot Orange Line that will, in places, roughly parallel the route of the Trinity toll road.... cont...
    > Texas Police Find Human Heads in Traffic Stop... Nov 01/07
The Royse City police report made it sound like officers got caught in a sick promotional stunt for Saw IV. And that's part of the problem. "I just want to caution people from seeing humor in this," said Lt. Jim Baker, a police spokesman, referring to a traffic stop early Sunday. "These are the remains of people's loved ones, and they deserve dignity. I'm trying to keep this from becoming a Halloween story."... cont...
